Why?
In certain scenarios, multiple devices must cooperate - for example when one device is aggregating signals from other devices. In such a case, one device needs to be elected a leader of a group, in a deterministic and consistent way.
What?
Evaluate options for how to implement the leader election interface for edge apps. Should it be via the EVP hub, or peer to peer? Integrate into the device stack and expose via WASI extension. Prototype an application which uses this service.
